as part of my thesis, i created “the anatomy of a funeral” that is centered around my own staged funeral. based on the culture of photographing the deceased in estonia and the depiction of the departed in art by selected authors, i created a photo series where i am in the role of the person in the coffin. the photo series is accompanied by video clips documenting the rehearsal of the performative funeral day, showing the process of creating the practical work.
